Awhile back I was at Powell's Books in Portland, (which is one of the best places on earth. You can decide if I'm talking about Powell's or Portland) and I saw the novel True Grit with a sign under it saying that it was going to be made into a movie by the Cohen Brothers. I bought the book, not wanting to see another of their movies based on a book without knowing the source material (I read No Country for Old Men well after seeing the movie and would have loved to have read the book first).
I've finished the book (you really should read it, it's a great story) and have started seeing commercials for the movie, which comes out this Christmas (because Christmas is the time to watch movies about a tween girl getting cold blooded revenge), and cannot wait to see the movie. Check out the website for the movie (Johnny Cash's God's Gonna Cut You Down is worth the visit alone), and you'll be excited too.
In the meantime, Nerve.com had a list of every Cohen Brother's film ranked. You can tell that their work is pretty damn amazing when The Hudsucker Proxy is ranked #6.
