Ice Cream Guy is the product of some excellent timing by a Washington Post photographer who was sent outside to get shots of people reacting to the snow/sleet/rain/THUNDERSNOW. The photographer happened to see a man running down the street, wearing no jacket and holding something, and snapped a few photos. One of these photos ended up on the Washington Post's website, and then the front page of the Post the next day (see below).
This awesome photo started making it's way around the interwebs, people started adding stuff to the photo (dinosaurs, Happy Leo, etc.), and a meme was created. Check out the links below for a round-up of how this meme took shape.
