I've wanted to see Saturday Night Live live for as long as I've lived close enough where it is an actual possibility (aka, in DC). One reason is that you can see the dress rehersal where they decide which jokes, skits, etc. actually make it onto the show. SNL just released a behind the scenes video on Hulu featuring some jokes that didn't make the show and outtakes from bits that did make the show. It's really worth watching, especially since Stefon appears in the video (at 3:20 into it).
Because if you work with the government all you need to work is three hours. Here's how to spend the other 37 hours.

Thanks THUNDERSNOW for the "Ice Cream Guy" meme
Last week DC experienced the awesomeness of THUNDERSNOW (said awesomeness depends on if you made it home in under an hour)! One of my favorite parts of the THUNDERSNOW was the creation of the new meme, "Ice Cream Guy".
Ice Cream Guy is the product of some excellent timing by a Washington Post photographer who was sent outside to get shots of people reacting to the snow/sleet/rain/THUNDERSNOW. The photographer happened to see a man running down the street, wearing no jacket and holding something, and snapped a few photos. One of these photos ended up on the Washington Post's website, and then the front page of the Post the next day (see below).

Project Popcorn = MST3K + Vodka
Did you know that the Russians are ripping off MST3K (that's Mystery Science Theater 3000 for those of you not in the know)? Yep, they are. It's only fair since we stole Yakoff Smirnoff.
They've made a few changes to the show, however. First, they call it Project Popcorn, which is good since everyone loves popcorn. I'm assuming that in Russia they cover their popcorn in vodka and not artificial butter oil like we do (Yay me! That's two stereotypical Russia jokes in one post!). Second, they've reimagined the robots as a penguin and a dog, because why not? Check out the intro below. Chances on if you like this you're a dork (to be fair, if you enjoyed MST3K you're probably a dork anyway).

Comedy is where the mind goes to tickle itself (that's what she said)
I love NBC's Thursday night line up. I've mentioned my love of Community (twice), 30 Rock (twice), and Parks and Recreation before (three times last week), but not The Office (or Perfect Couples or Outsources, but who cares about those shows anyway?). Well, The Office's time has come. It was funny last night (or at least the few minutes were). Check out Ricky Gervais' cameo and then tell me that you don't want more (I dare you):
Oscars Stuff on the Internet Rundown!
While I was away this week (by away I mean actually doing work at work), Oscar nominations came out. There weren't really any surprises this year, besides Winter's Bone being nominated for Best Picture. Seriously, that movie should have been called "Winter's Bore" (and with that zinger I'm back!).
Since I love movies and the internet, here are a bunch of things that I've come across dealing with the Oscars:

I've been busy. Get over it.
I've actually been busy at work this week, hence the three or four posts total this week. Sorry. I'll make sure that I'm not busy next week so I can focus on what's really important at work, not doing any work. Here's a video of a rapping squirrel trying to drum up business for a law-firm in New York. Why not.

24 Hour Nazi Party People
The Daily Show was really funny the othe night (I know, surprising). Here's my favorite clip from the episode.

Angry Birds + Cute Kid = Cute Video
Here's another Angry Birds video. This one features a little girl getting pelted by stuffed Angry Birds. It's funny and cute. You'll enjoy it.

I am showing you my teeth!
Most of my posts are me writing two or more lines of hilarious really funny humorous chuckle-worthy text and then introducing a video (typically it's of cats, but to be fair, that is representative of what's on the internet). This post is completely different. In this post I'm going to write two lines of text and then link to a funnier blog entry on a funnier blog. Sorry for blowing your mind.
Here's the premise for the funnier blog entry (as quoted directly from the funnier blog): "What happens when a gorilla sets up a profile on the dating site OK Cupid (with the username "iamagorilla") and then starts messaging girls? See below."

Favre out!
Ok, here's hoping that this is the last Favre item that I ever post. Today's interweb video of the day is Brett Favre: Rise. Watch it, laugh at how horrible he is, and then forget that he exists. That's my plan.
Yep, that's a hummingbird peeing
You demanded it, so I'm posting it. Thanks to all of you that wrote in demanding to see a video of a hummingbird peeing. It's always great to hear from my reader(s). Why you asked for such a weirdly specific video, I don't know. Anyway, here it is. Enjoy it.
Here's my obligatory Colbert Report video for the day
One of my main duties at work is to watch the Daily Show and the Colbert Report while checking my email (that is singular for a reason. I typically get one email a day that requires reading.) and drinking my coffee. This leads me to post a lot of Daily Show and Colbert Report clips, btw you're welcome.
While I really, really enjoy the Daily Show, I think that I actually laugh more at the Colbert Report. Colbert has a direct line to my funny bone (that sounds like it was written by an 80 year-old grandmother talking about Bob Hope). So, here's today's obligatory Colbert Report clip (this is the clip where he rips on Palin. It's really good). Enjoy.

Aziz Ansari: Difficult name, difficult to not see everywhere you look
For the exciting conclusion of my 3 part blog-a-rama about Parks and Rec, I’m focusing on Aziz Ansari. Why you ask? Why not focus on Ron Swanson (aka Nick Offerman), who I’ve already insinuated is the show’s star? Because, Aziz Ansari is currently featured on every blog that I read.
Is he on Gawker? Yes. Is he on Splitsider.com? Yes. Does he have a feature on Bear Quarterly? Weirdly, yes. He has funny videos posted on all of these sites. Now they’re posted on my site. Check them out.
Did you realize that Amy Poehler used to be a Candy Striper?
Yep, another Parks and Recreation post (AKA, part 2 of 3 in my blog-a-rama about Parks and Rec). We’ve already discussed Rob Lowe and his not-very-blissful ignorance of Park and Rec’s break, now we’re on to the show’s star (no not Ron Swanson) Amy Poehler.
