I present to you animals with British accents. Is it just me, or do they sound smarter than American animals?
Because if you work with the government all you need to work is three hours. Here's how to spend the other 37 hours.

This is the best clock ever!
This clock slows down during your lunch hour then speeds back up to display the correct time, which gives you an extra 12 minutes of lunchtime (that's 1 extra hour a week). Awesome! Here's a video that explains it all.
Ricky Gervais actually made the Golden Globes worth watching (no, seriously)
I'm not typically a big fan of awards shows (seriously, I don't care who any of these people want/have to thank), but this Sunday's Golden Globes was actually watchable. This was due 99% to Ricky Gervais and his unflinching insults/jokes at the expense of the celebrities in the audience (okay, not all were in the audience, but enough where). Check out his opening monologue below, and you'll get a sense of what I'm talking about. On a side note, the head of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (the people that put on the Golden Globes) called Gervais' jokes totally unacceptable, so that's cool.
Hey Anderson, Here's a Headline!
This week's Digital Short on SNL was awesome. Did it include gratuitous amounts of Pee Wee Herman? Yep. Special guest appearances? Yep (including a foul mouthed Chairy). Even though the rest of the show was very mediocre, the record executive meeting featuring C-Lo was really bad, this made it worth watching (or at least worth checking out Hulu for the good stuff). Check it out.

Have you heard about this show called Portlandia?
PORTLANDIA. PORTLANDIA. PORTLANDIA. PORTLANDIA. PORTLANDIA. The entire first episode is available on Hulu now. PORTLANDIA. PORTLANDIA. PORTLANDIA. PORTLANDIA.
Happy Friday!
Happy Friday!
Kitty Kat Korner (The cutest KKK article ever)
It's Friday and I'm tired. Therefore, I'm just going to throw some cat videos up here and let you go "awww".Only 3.5hrs till the three-day weekend.
Law & Order: Bad Teeth Unit
The British are always trying to steal our stuff. First they tried to steal our tea in Boston, so we had to throw it in the water (I didn't get much sleep last night, so this is as funny as it's going to get. Sorry). Now, they've stolen the most beloved TV series in US history (and by that I mean it aired on TV in the US for quite some time, and then we cancelled it), Law & Order. Here's a clip from Law & Order UK. It's like our Law & Order, only slightly more polite.

Take my breath away? Wait, how about Every breath you take? No, that's no good either.
I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm guessing that you've seen Sarah Palin's response to the Arizona shootings on Saturday (the blood libel one). Here's a cut of that video that vastly improves on the original (hint: this cut keeps it concise, which is almost always good).
This is a Dave I'd like to know. Ya know?
Splitsider did a look back at The Kids in the Hall today (which is very much worth a read and is better than this post, so I won't be upset if you click over and read that instead). In their look back, they posted one of my all time favorite skits "A Good Attitude Towards Menstruation" (watch the skit below).
It's not only a great skit, but it's perhaps the best menstruation video ever made. I dare you to find a better one, mainly because I'm scared to do a search for fear that 1) I'll be approached by the IT department about my internet browsing, 2) who knows what scary videos the internet has on this topic, and 3) you only really need one video on the topic.

Did you read that article that featured the new Portlandia clip?
Yes, I am excited that Portlandia is coming to IFC soon. I've mentioned the show a few times before, and I am going to keep mentioning it (why do you have a problem with that?). In this clip Fred and Carrie take on those people that are always one-uping you about articles that they read (I may be this person).
Sell outs are totally "in" in 2011
Vampire Weekend, the band that make's Georgetown seem "edgy", and The Black Keys (I have nothing witty to say about them because I haven't listened to them) appeared on last night's Colbert Report to settle who would win Best Alternative Music Album of the year. To settle this dispute, Colbert challenged both band's to a "Sell-out Off." Turns out, both bands are fairly whorish. Good for them.
Losing sucks, but The League is awesome
Did you watch The League this season? No?!?!! Well, you missed out on a great comedy (I feel like I've mentioned that people should watch The League before...). Really, how can you not like a show that has parent's lying to their kids by saying that an elf is a spy for Santa, and that if they misbehave, the elf will narc on them (by the way, the elf's name is Kegel).
Below is a clip from the two-part season finale that aired last week. It's on Hulu now, so you really should watch it. It was so good that I've had this post as a draft since the day after the episode aired on TV. At that time I was heading into the playoffs with joy and hope in my heart.

I could use some menergy today
Damn, Tuesday sucks. It's the pretty much the worst day of the week (Monday sucks too). At least Monday has some residual weekend fun on it. For example "man, last weekend was so much fun! I can't believe I got to go swimming with dolphin! The best part was when they ate Tyra Banks. Weekends rule!" That's how I roll (sorry that I just wrote "that's how I roll").
On Tuesdays, all that fun is gone. You're stuck wishing for a snow day that never comes (come on DC, give me one snow day this year!), or trying plan for the weekend which seems 3 years away. Tuesdays suck, all day it's like having that "2:30 feeling" (thanks 5-Hour Energy for introducing that into my vocabulary). Days like Tuesday require gratuitous amounts of energy. In lieu of that, here's the Powerthirst video.

Aflockalypse: SOLVED
We've all heard about the Aflockalypse (the thousands of birds dying off in Arkansas and elsewhere). There have been many theories as to why this is happening. SNL proposed that it was bird on fish sex that caused the mass culling. The repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell has been blamed (obviously). A random crazy dude thinks that BP's reckless drilling for oil is the cause (again, duh). These maybe crazy (except for the BP one), but the truth is out there.
To find the truth we need to look at what we know about birds and what we know about Arkansas. Well, birds lay eggs and they can be protective of them. Arkansas is home of the University of Arkansas Razorbacks, which has a pig (it's more of a boar, but close enough) as a mascot. Therefore, the only reasonable conclusion is that the pigs of Arkansas stole the birds' eggs, and they died flinging themselves at the pigs in order to get their eggs back. If you're still confused, check out the video below.

The Chaser's War on Everything: Australian for Candid Camera
Oh those crazy Australians, always deep frying onions, correcting people on what is and isn't a knife, and having another word for beer (for those of you playing at home the answer to the previous references were: Outback's Blooming Onion, Crocodile Dundee, and Fosters). Well, now they've gone ahead and created a hidden camera show called The Chaser's War on Everything (which isn't a new show, it's been on since 2006), and it is somewhat funny (well, at least this clip is).
The premise is simple: a guy in with pantyhose over his head goes into stores to buy things. As you can see, this is a prime set-up for comedy gold.
