You've probably already seen the "Lost Cat" email exchange between David Thorne and his coworker, but I'm extremely bored at work today, and just reread it. It's really a great way to kill time. 

WTF

No, nothing bad happened to me. Something good actually happened. I was introduced to the WTF with Marc Maron podcast (thanks This American Life Blog). WFT is a great podcast where comedian Marc Maron sits down and talks with his comedian friends, what's not to like about that? I just recently finished watching all of the Battlestar Galactica series while at work, so I needed something to listen to while I avoided work. 

Does the chair know that we’re going to look like some punk-ass bitches?

I loved The Wire (yes, I am white. How'd you know?). I am always happy to see people from The Wire pop up in TV shows that are on the air (Wallace is now on Parenthood and Friday Night Lights). Their new shows range from being okay (Marlo was in a few episodes of Heroes) to great (Fringe and FNL are great), but none of them come close to The Wire. Thanks to the wonders of YouTube I can still relive the show. Thanks YouTube.

People that know me know that I hate fetuses. I especially hate Dr. Fetus. You see, Dr. Fetus kidnapped Meat Boy's girlfriend, therefore I dislike him. What the hell am I talking about? Well, I'm talking about Meat Boy.

Whenever I hit a slow patch at work (about 92.5% of the time), I look to find fun stuff to read on Internet. Here's one of my favorite stops, Animal Review. Who doesn't like reviewing and ranking things? I do.

If you live in WA, Vote "Meh" on Prop 1069

As I stated yesterday, today is election day (you may have heard through other sources, but I like to take credit for common knowledge things like this). So, as you head to your polling station, make sure you're up to date on all the propositions that are on your ballot. The award for best prop of the year goes to... Proposition 1069 in Washington state. 


Proposition 1069 states "This measure would require the Washington State Seal to depict a tapeworm attached to a taxpayer’s intestine, encircled by the words: Committed to sucking the life blood out of each and every taxpayer." So, know what you're voting for people. Otherwise, you might get worms.

Tomorrow's Election Day, VOTE!

If you're like me and live in DC, you may have thought that the election was over after the Democratic primary settled the mayoral race. This is not the case however. There are other important issues that need your attention. Plus, you can either come in late to work, or leave early to vote. Seriously, talk to your boss, and unless they're a huge asshole, they'll let you come in late/leave early. Also, it's your civil duty and all that jazz.

The Vikings: A season of boners

The Vikings are trying to kill me. Not actual vikings (they died off years ago), the Minnesota Vikings. After having to put up with two seasons of Brett Favre drama, the epic FAIL that was last year's NFC championship game, and a lifetime of coming close, but never quite making it, the Vikings have waived Randy Moss after acquiring him just weeks ago. Randy Moss is an asshole, but he's a talented asshole. He was our asshole. He opened up the field for our other players to shine. Percy Harvin has been insane over the last few games, why do you think that is? Adrian is not running into 9 men in the box because there's more of a threat in the passing game. What do the Vikings do? They fire the guy that's making their offense better. Way to go Brad Childress and the rest of the Viking's leadership; you've screwed up yet another season.

Are you watching The League on FX? No? Why not, it’s one of the best comedies on TV right now. I’m not just saying that because I’m mildly obsessed with Fantasy football (really baseball and football). The whole fantasy football theme is really just a platform for watching a group friends hangout, interact, and make each other’s lives hell (Friends:Central Perk::The League:Fantasy Football League). I recommend that you watch it. It’s funny, and you can watch it online from your desk on hulu.com or fxnetworks.com.

What to look forward to now?

The Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear has come and past. Halloween is over. The weather is turning colder reminding you of the cold winter that is coming. Day light savings ends on Sunday, so starting next Monday you’ll be leaving work when it’s dark out (well, you will, I try to be out of work by 4pm at the latest). What the hell are we supposed to look forward to now? Well, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I, of course.

The latest (and first installment of the last book of the series) movie is starting on November 19^th. The previews make it look as great as the rest of the series (besides the second movie, which was not very good at all). The movie is full of dark times and seemingly certain failure for Harry and friends (does this remind anyone of the current political situation?). I can’t wait to see it and get swept back into the wonderful world of wizarding. 

However, November 19^th seems like a longs way away right now. In the meantime, I'll be reading a Harry Potter/Saved by the Bell mash-up comic. Additionally, I’ll be re-reading the 7^th book on my computer at work. With the plain text view, it looks like I’m reading a large, possibly work-related document of some sort, and not goofing off. Thanks Amazon Kindle for PC!
